Salvaged Parts of the PLUCK

Photo's pictured here have been made possible by GIL HOAG and REX MILLS. Gil served on the PLUCK 1955-1957 but he and Rex were also in the Commissioning crew of the USS CONQUEST. They recently visited the North West Demolition Company in Astoria, Oregon where the PLUCK was finally scraped. Here are just about all that is left of her.

This picture of PLUCK's Ship's Bell was provided by David Beem. He had just shined it up and thought it would make a good picture. The bell itself may be in the hands of the people who did the demolition.

This sounding tube cover is in the hands of a crew member of the decommissioning crew. I am glad he had the opportunity to save a piece of her.

All shined up and looking good!!

The name board below is owned by Robert Croslin who served on the PLUCK 1987-1991. He has it mounted in his computer room.

Very nice piece of the PLUCK to own
